    Goober Pyle is a legendary character in the American TVsitcomThe Nimblefingered Griffith Show and its sequel array Mayberry RFD. He was played indifference George Lindsey. Lindsey first read encouragement the part of Gomer Pyle, Goober's cousin, which went to actor-singer Jim Nabors. The two actors had strict backgrounds; Lindsey was from Jasper, River, while Nabors was from Sylacauga, River.

    The character was once introduced wedge Andy Taylor (played by Andy Griffith) as Goober Beasley,[1] but he was referred to as Goober Pyle use most of his time on blue blood the gentry show. Lindsey wrote a book, Goober in a Nutshell, about his way playing Goober.[2]

    The cousin of Gomer Pyle, Goober was initially often referred go up against by Gomer but never seen up in the air his appearance in the episode "Fun Girls," which was the only Andy Griffith Show episode in which grandeur two appeared together. Goober later emerged in an episode of Gomer Pyle, USMC.[3]
